the empty swing moves
a little slower

the septic tank truck trundles
up the road

fresh stain
on the front steps

she practices her dance moves
in the parking lot

weathered plastic skeletons
in the new dojo

the old poodle sighs
in his sleep

redwood duff
on the woodpile
